Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, name (optional), and an encrypted version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.

Uploaded Data

When you upload support ticket data, we store:

Ticket content (subject, description)
Ticket metadata (ID, creation date, tags, priority)
Customer plan information (if provided)

Important: We recommend anonymizing or removing personally identifiable information (PII) from your CSV exports before uploading. SignalDesk is designed to work with aggregated support patterns, not individual customer data.

Generated Content

We store AI-generated content including:

Theme clusters and summaries
Product Requirements Documents (PRDs)
Ticket sets (Epics and Issues)
Embeddings for similarity analysis

Usage Data

We collect analytics data about how you use SignalDesk, including page views, feature usage, and interaction patterns. This helps us improve the product.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and maintain the SignalDesk service
Generate themes, PRDs, and tickets from your uploaded data
Improve our AI models and algorithms
Communicate with you about updates and features
Analyze usage patterns to improve the product

Third-Party Services

OpenAI

We use OpenAI's API to generate embeddings and AI content. Your uploaded ticket data is sent to OpenAI for processing. Please review OpenAI's Privacy Policy for their data handling practices.

Linear

If you connect your Linear account, we store OAuth tokens to enable ticket export. We only access your Linear workspace with the permissions you grant during authentication.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
Encrypted password storage using bcrypt
Secure session management with HTTP-only cookies
Database access controls and monitoring

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@signal-desks.com.
